Double trouble!

What a day for OPR at Beverley!

ROARING RORY got the ball rolling with a well deserved win under up-and-coming 7lb apprentice, Seamus Cronin. Given a very straightforward ride, Rory broke well and tracked the leader, took it up at the furlong pole and battled on well for a half-length victory.

Then it was the turn of MONT ROYAL, who broke his maiden in the feature race, a 1m handicap, had a lot of things go wrong for him through the race and came from last to first under a strong drive from Andrew Mullen to get up on the line, fulfilling the promise shown in earlier races. Now stepping up in trip, he looks sure to go on to even better things.
